![]() The Venture stays abreast of more recently designed minivans with lots of cupholders and bins for passengers to store stuff. The front seats hold you securely with large side bolsters, yet the seating surface itself is relatively flat, which makes getting in and out easy, while encouraging you to move around on long trips. The fore-and-aft range of the driver’s seat is long enough for folks over six-and-a-half feet tall. Up front, a height-adjustment lever allows the driver to change positions without getting too close or too far from the steering wheel. The Venture seats seven, and there’s plenty of head room and elbow room no matter which seat you’re in. It’s a more purely functional look, one that’s entirely appropriate for a practical family vehicle. We do like its decisively horizontal lines and relatively short front overhang. Compared to minivans from Ford and Chrysler, Venture is more traditional, less overtly streamlined. Otherwise, Venture’s appearance is either undistinguished or restrained, depending on your point of view. The first thing you might notice about the Chevrolet Venture is the cheery, bright-metal grin of its front grille. Also available is an ultrasonic rear parking aid to alert drivers about hard-to-see objects hiding behind the van. GM’s OnStar communications system comes as standard equipment on LS, LT, and Warner Bros. LATCH (Lower Anchors and Top tethers for Children) child safety seat anchors come standard. Edition comes only on the longer wheelbase.Įxtended-wheelbase LS, LT, and Warner Bros. That alone could easily be worth a thousand bucks. Some owners say it has eliminated the phrase, “Don’t make me stop the car and come back there,” from their parental repertoire. Edition ($30,040) adds a DVD-based entertainment center that should take the “are we there yet?” out of even the longest trip. Traction control and a touring suspension with automatic load leveling are standard as well. LT ($29,880) rides on the long wheelbase exclusively, and comes with second-row captain’s chairs and separate front and rear air conditioners. A power sliding door for the driver’s side is optional. LS ($25,770) adds an overhead console, a roof rack, and aluminum wheels, and makes the power sliding door standard on the passenger side. The Plus version can be ordered with a power sliding door on the passenger side. Venture Plus ($24,920) comes with an AM/FM/RDS radio and six-disc CD changer, cruise control, deep-tinted side and rear glass, power windows, and remote keyless entry. Long-wheelbase models come with a 25-gallon gas tank, rather than the 20-gallon unit installed in short-wheelbase Ventures. Both are available in either the standard wheelbase or the long wheelbase, with the longer chassis adding an even $1000 to the price. Plus and LS models each add another layer of interior amenities. The Value Van rides on the shorter wheelbase, but still provides seating for seven. The bargain-priced Value Van ($21,520) comes with a surprisingly high level of standard equipment, including air conditioning, side-impact air bags, anti-lock brakes, dual sliding doors, and a tilt steering column. All models are powered by a 185-horsepower 3.4-liter overhead-valve V6 engine, which drives the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Two lengths are available: the standard 112-inch wheelbase and an extended 120-inch wheelbase. The Chevy Venture comes in a variety of trim levels. Last year’s Venture added two significant new options: GM’s Versatrak four-wheel drive, and a DVD-based entertainment system in the special Warner Bros. Available modular bucket seats and captain’s chairs allow you to precisely tailor the Venture’s interior for any conceivable combination of passengers and cargo. Its best feature may well be its wide range of seating and cargo configurations. While neither the most economical minivan you can buy, nor the most powerful, Venture remains competitively priced for a van with V6 power. Its V6 engine is willing, and its ride is smooth and car-like. Chevrolet Venture represents a solid alternative among minivans, one that will appeal to a lot of buyers.

Andie MacDowell ( Maid) is returning to the Hallmark Channel to star in The Way Home, the network’s new, original primetime series that was. Each week they seem to evolve more as the story continues. Hallmark Channel’s new, original primetime series that stars Andie MacDowell (Maid) and Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) will premiere Sunday, January 15. Kat's daughter, Alice, and her mother, Del, do not disappoint with their storyline and their interactions with each other. EXCLUSIVE: The Way Home has a debut date. Find video, photos and cast information for the Hallmark Drama movie At Home in Mitford starring Andie McDowell and Cameron Mathison. You look forward to seeing where their relationship may or may not go. I love him! He adds interest to the mostly troubled character of Kat. While the reunion doesn’t go as planned, the three women learn to reconnect and find their way back to each other. Alice, who has never met her grandmother, joins them. The two have not processed the loss of Del’s. After two decades, Kat returns home to Port Haven, Canada, after receiving a letter from Del. But coming home is complicated for Kat and so too is having Kat home for Del. Del hasn’t even met Alice before the two show up on her doorstep. Elliot is by far my favorite with his quick wit, intelligence, sensitivity and very responsive facial expressions. They head to a farm in Canada to move in with Kat’s mother Del (played by Andie MacDowell), despite the two having been estranged for many years. Seriously, the show really holds your attention! Also, the dynamics between the characters are very entertaining to watch. Where will the infamous pond take Kat and/or her daughter Alice each week? Who is involved in all of the years, what happened and how? Is the brother/son still alive and if so in what time frame? The time switch of the same characters adds a true interest that is not often seen in other series. First, the storyline is very entertaining as it really is a mystery of what has happened with The Landry Family and friends from past to present. I have looked forward to watching the show each week as well as to the upcoming 2nd season. This publicity photo released by Hallmark Channel shows Andie MacDowell, as Olivia Lockhart, a municipal judge, in Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove. Andie MacDowell and Dylan Neal were announced as the series' stars, with the premiere slated for the following year. The ongoing mystery of the show and the cast makes for a full blown hit. In 2012, Hallmark Channel issued a press release, announcing that it had begun producing its first TV series, 'Cedar Cove,' which would kick off with a two-hour pilot. Other notable performances from MacDowell include St. This particular series strays from that and it is truly refreshing. She would also receive Golden Globe Award nominations for her performances in Green Card (1990) and Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994). Hallmark has become more and more predictable. The Way Home follows the lives of three generations of women – Kat Landry (Leigh), her 15-year-old daughter Alice (Laflamme-Snow) and Kat’s mother Del (MacDowell), who are all strong, willful and independent. More than 20 years prior, lifechanging events prompted Kat to move away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven and she remains estranged from Del to this day. Alice has never met her grandmother and is unaware of the reasons for their fractured family. With Kat’s marriage coming to an end and having just been laid off from her job, she decides to return home after receiving an unexpected letter from Del urging her to come back. Although Alice is none-too-thrilled, Kat and her daughter arrive at her family’s farm, though the reunion isn’t what Kat had envisioned. As the three generations of women slowly work on finding their footing as a family, they embark on an enlightening – and surprising – journey none of them could have imagined as they learn how to find their way back to each other.I honestly think The Way Home is the best Hallmark series I have seen and especially so in recent years. ET.Įvan Williams ( Blonde) and Sadie Laflamme-Snow ( The Apprentice) also star in the multigenerational drama, along with Alex Hook ( I Am Frankie), Al Mukadam ( Pretty Hard Cases), Jefferson Brown ( Masters of Romance), David Webster ( Luckiest Girl Alive) and Siddarth Sharma ( Homeschooled). Hallmark Channel’s new, original primetime series that stars Andie MacDowell ( Maid) and Chyler Leigh ( Grey’s Anatomy) will premiere Sunday, January 15 at 9 p.m. After their fathers death, a woman spends time with her developmentally-disabled sister. ![]() I bet that Isaac Newton is the last name you’d associate with modern color wheels (unless you’re a total color theory geek like me)! Newton first experimented with light and prisms in 1666. The first color wheel is over 300 years old! Next week we will look at how to use either of these color wheels to find color harmony with fabrics and get inspired to try some new color combinations.Īs a bonus, at the end of this post you’ll find our free PDF printable Color Wheel Basics cards to help you remember what you’ve learned! Look for the free download and instructions on how to print and assemble your set of cards at the end of the post. It turns out that you can easily apply color theory to colored fabrics, and in this week’s post we’ll take a closer look at what a color wheel is, and learn about the three most commonly used color wheels. The fabric color wheel above is inspired by one of those basic assignments creating a 12-step red/yellow/blue color wheel. I’ve read lots of books about color theory both old and new, and even recreated some of those basic color theory assignments from my college days with fabrics instead of paint. I recently became interested in revisiting color theory again to see how it could be applied to color in fabrics. Having the freedom to mix almost any color with paints is a lot different than working with the colors you are limited to in fabrics. I first learned about color theory while studying fine arts in college, completing lots of basic color assignments with paints. Did you know even quilters and sewists have been using a color wheel to help with fabric color choices? Even machine embroiderers can use a color wheel to help pick out thread colors for embroidery designs! If you haven’t tried using a color wheel before (or maybe never even heard of one) and would like to learn more about using this tool to help with selecting and coordinating fabrics, this is the series for you! You can create your own custom color profiles using ColorSync Utility.Color wheels are not just for artists anymore they are used by all kinds of creative people working with color-florists and landscape designers, decorators and interior designers, graphic designers, filmmakers, and comic book artists.
